How it works
What is a tarot card combination?
A tarot card combination is the meaning two or three cards take on when you read them as one message instead of one at a time. Some pairs reinforce each other, some pull in opposite directions, and some add up to a third meaning that neither card has on its own. The order matters, a reversed card shifts the tone, and the same pair reads differently for a question about love than for one about work. This calculator reads exactly the cards you enter, upright or reversed and in the order you set, and writes what they mean together for your question.
How to read tarot card combinations
- 1Start with how the cards relate: do they strengthen each other, pull against each other, or turn into something new together?
- 2Read them in order as a short story, where the first card is how it starts and the last card is where it leads.
- 3Look at the suits: Cups lean toward feelings, Wands toward action, Swords toward thoughts and conflict, and Pentacles toward money and work.
- 4The more Major Arcana in the mix, the bigger the theme, while Minor Arcana cards show how it plays out day to day.
- 5A reversed card keeps its meaning, but that energy is blocked, delayed or turned inward.
Example: The Tower + The Star
Question: What do these cards mean together?
The Tower
The StarIn one line: a sudden collapse that clears the way for healing.
Both cards are Major Arcana, so this is a real turning point. The Tower comes first. Something that looked solid gives way, whether it is a plan, a belief or a relationship. The Star comes last, and the last card has the final say, so the weight falls on what follows the shock. There is room to breathe again, to be honest with yourself and to hope in a quieter, steadier way.
- The Tower: the sudden break with something that was never as stable as it looked.
- The Star: the calm and the hope that come once the dust settles.
One thing to do: write down one thing you no longer have to hold together, then one small step toward what you hope for now.
This reading was written for these cards, in this order, and for the question above. It is not fixed text. Swap the order or set a card reversed and the reading changes.

How your reading is written
You choose the cards and whether each one is upright or reversed. The reading is then written by AI from Rider-Waite-Smith card meanings, connecting the cards for the question you asked. It is for reflection and entertainment, not medical, legal or financial advice. If you like to read your own cards, write down your take first and compare.
Tarot combination calculator FAQ
Can I enter cards from my own physical deck?
Yes. Choose the same cards in the same order they came out of your deck, and mark any that came out reversed. Nothing is drawn for you here. Want the deck to choose instead? Draw cards here.
Does it read the cards together or one by one?
Together. You get one reading of the whole combination: how the cards relate, what they say about your question and one thing to do. Each card also gets a line on the role it plays in this combination, so you can check your own reading against it.
Does the order of the cards matter?
Yes. The first card is where the situation starts and the last card is where it leads, so the last one carries the most weight. The Tower followed by The Star reads as a collapse that leads to healing. The Star followed by The Tower reads as hope that runs into a sudden shake-up.
How are reversed cards read in a combination?
A reversed card keeps the meaning of the upright card, but that energy is blocked, delayed or turned inward. It is not automatically a bad sign. Mark a card reversed only if it came out that way, and the reading takes it into account.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free. You get one free reading a day, and the first one needs no account. Members can read without the one-a-day limit.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT?
Your cards are shown as real tarot cards, laid out in the order you set, and the reading is written with reversals and order built in, so changing either one changes the answer. Afterwards you can ask follow-up questions about the same cards.
